Candle Care

We want you to enjoy having and burning DARIUM candles, and to do that please remember to follow safety precautions and to take appropriate care of DARIUM candles before you use them:

  • Trim the wick to 6mm length every time before burning. Long wicks will lead to uneven burning.

  • When you burn your candle for the first time, make sure you do it until the candle creates the pool of melted wax, so the burn can be even.

  • Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours.

  • NEVER EVER leave a candle unattended. Extinguish your candles when you leave the room or when you go to sleep.

  • Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets, ESPECIALLY when burning.

  • NEVER burn a candle on or near anything that is flammable.

  • ALWAYS place candles on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface.

  • ALWAYS keep burning candles away from any kind of drafts or air currents (eg. caused by fans) for an even and stable burn and no lightweight items being blown into the flame.

  • MAKE SURE that the wax pool is always free from matches, wick trimmings and any debris.

  • ALWAYS burn candles in well-ventilated rooms, and do not burn too many candles in places where air exchange is not sufficient.

  • NEVER move or hold a burning candle when the wax is in a liquid form.

  • If a candle is not burning properly (eg. flame is too high, flickers or repeatable creates smoke), extinguish it, cool it down and trim the wick. Then use it again making sure there is no draft.

  • Maintain 10cm distance between burning candles.

  • NEVER burn a candle all the way down, discontinue burning when 1cm of wax remains in a container.

  • NEVER extinguish candles with water, use a snuffer or turn a wick into the wax so there is no smoke created.

  • NEVER use a candle as a night light or during a power outage, flashlights are safer sources of light.
